Start with the product-specific instructions
This guide provides general care information. If a product, material supplier, quotation or delivered item includes specific care instructions, those instructions take priority for that item.
Wood and finished surfaces
- Dust with a clean, soft cloth rather than abrasive material.
- Wipe spills promptly instead of allowing moisture to remain on the surface.
- Avoid placing very hot items directly on finished furniture.
- Use coasters, mats or protective pads where heat, moisture or repeated friction is expected.
- Do not assume every wood finish can use the same polish, oil or chemical cleaner.
Natural wood can show variation in grain and tone. Read the Material Guide before treating natural variation as a defect.
Upholstery
Vacuum loose dust using an appropriate low-force upholstery attachment. Blot fresh spills instead of aggressively rubbing them into the fabric. Test any cleaner on an inconspicuous area and follow the fabric/product instructions.
Hardware and moving parts
Do not force hinges, slides or fittings that are obstructed. If hardware becomes loose or movement changes noticeably, stop repeated force and contact support where inspection may be needed.
Placement and environment
Extended direct sunlight, unusual humidity, standing water, strong heat sources and unsuitable outdoor exposure can affect furniture materials and finishes. Use furniture in the environment it was specified for.
Moving furniture
Lift furniture using appropriate support rather than dragging heavy pieces across floors. Re-check access measurements before moving large pieces between rooms.
